First I created 3 different User Interface style concepts for the client to choose from.
Then the final design was based off the dark theme.
The first section is the Main Menu Screens.

The second section is the Pause Menu and In-game Screens
These screens use a stand-in image for the in-game graphics to be shown in the background.

Health and Mana Bars
The Health and Mana bars are constructed in layers with a grey background, simple green and blue bars that scale to show the amount and a solid overlay graphic with transparent windows over the bars for extra shape and detail.
